The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), on Thursday, guided Collectors of Customs to decimate every single cell phone which are not ensured/whitelisted by Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) as these can’t be unloaded regardless.
The FBR has issued Customs General Order 7 of 2018 to decimate the cell phones which are not whitelisted in Device Identification Registration Blocking System (DIRBS).
As indicated by the guidelines issued by the FBR to the Model Customs Collectorates (MCCs), the field developments will analyze the appropriated/seized cell phones (new/utilized) ready for transfer to incorporate the data in the organization endorsed underneath:
The previously mentioned data both in hard/delicate duplicate will be sent to the Director (Type Approval) Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) Headquarters, F-5, Islamabad for specialized assessment/accreditation and their white-posting in Device Identification Registration Blocking System (DIRBS).
The delicate duplicate will be made in the frame out of Excel Sheet with each column containing one IMEI just and will be messaged at commercialnoc@pta.gov.pk through authority email IDs of the field developments;
The PTA will at that point affirm to cell phones that are white-recorded in the DIRBS. From that point, the field arrangements will arrange the cell phones through open sale following the recommended technique.
The cell phones which are not ensured/whitelisted by PTA will be prepared for transfer through demolition in the way affirmed by the Collector/Director as per the administrative necessities informed under some other law in power, according to FBR.
